Is Rahul Gandhi the next leader of the largest democracy of the world? Lets’ hear from those who matter…

The nation has been waiting for him for long now. After Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, and after Priyanka Gandhi made clear of her political non-ambitions, all eyes turned to Rahul Gandhi. After the dismal performance in 1999 general elections, the congress party is growing impatient by-day waiting for RG to finally take over, the last hope of a dynasty worshipping party looking for magical turnaround. Something tells that RG is fully aware that leading this democracy is no body's legacy - no body's birthright, it is no dynastic gift. Rather, it is a job that is earned by merit, dedication, commitment, intelligence, vision, planning, and execution of that plan, to bring upon welfare to every citizen.
RG has not proved his mettle yet; but there certainly is no doubt that he displays ‘promise of tomorrow’, a tomorrow which does not seem far now. Only a litmus test of time will prove is this ‘promise’ for real or just a media-massaged-propagated agenda of a desperate political party!

Most notable and applaud able is his endeavor to bring upon a quiet revolution of youth empowerment at the grassroots levels. His experiment is aimed at ensuring that future leaders of the Congress are product of Youth Congress and have gone through the democratization process under which five-member panchayat committees will directly vote for Assembly and Lok Sabha candidates and state Youth Congress. The next major step is mandating that no candidate under 35 will be given a ticket for election if he is not in Youth Congress.
RG scores heavily on clean public image, education, vision, cause and commitment, charisma, and intelligence. How much of it transforms to a successful leader is yet to be seen. The nation is waiting and hoping.
